COURSE IN IRELAND

Summer Camp

The summer camp is a fun and exciting way for teenagers to learn English. Located in the city centre just five minutes from O’Connell Street, the programme includes 15 hours tuition per week and over 30 hours of stimulating social & cultural activities. Classes combine General English with task-based lessons where we put English into action through fun activities aimed at building confidence when using English in everyday situations. We offer accommodation with carefully selected host families, 35 minutes from the city centre with direct access to the city by public transport. The activity programme combines sporting, cultural and fun activities designed to keep the students engaged and inspired. Our programme includes activities every afternoon, two evenings per week and one full day bus tour at the weekend, so students will experience a fun packed programme they will remember.

Host Family

The majority of our students stay with host families located in the city suburbs. Students can expect to commute for up to 40 minutes by bus or train to the city centre. All of our host families have been inspected by a member of staff.

Host families provide nice accommodation as part of the family with single or room-sharing options available. Host families also provide half board. This consists of a simple breakfast and an evening meal. On the weekends it includes a small lunch.

Group Residential

Located about 10 minutes’ walk from the school. This hostel offers a very high-quality dormitory accommodation, in 6 to 12 bed dorms. Some dorms are ensuite, some are not.

The dorms are mixed gender and for adult students (18 plus) only. There are excellent cooking facilities which students may take advantage of. A supermarket is located opposite the hostel.

Lesson Themes

The programme includes 15 hours per week which are evenly split between General English and task based lessons which are divided into 4 themes. Our highly qualified and experienced teachers have been specially selected for their dynamic and energetic teaching approach, which encourages maximum student participation in all lessons. The four themes are:

  1. Paparazzi: Students research, create and publish the weekly gazette notice board. In teams the team Paparazzi decide on article themes, and cover topics and stories included on the social programme and their experiences at school.
  2. Glee: Students must prepare a performance for the weekly talent show. This can be a song, a play, a dance or a comedy act and although structured in format, students are encouraged to be as creative and adventurous as possible
  3. TV Club: The TV team have to write, produce, edit and direct their own TV show inspired by activities in school and events taking place around them.

The weekly ADAYSS Social Program includes at least one activity each afternoon and some evening and Saturday events.

Why choose ADAYSS

Our Buildings

We believe your learning space should be an inspirational one. The school occupies two uniquely styled year-round centres in Dublin. Our original school is located in an 18th century stone warehouse, converted into a school in 2001. Its interior combines original stone walls and wooden floors with a sleek and modern design. The walls are covered by inspirational art pieces and murals by local artists. Both upcylced and designer furniture are used in the student recreational areas to create a ‘cool café/bar’ feeling.

Our Location

Our original school is located in the fruit and vegetable market quarter, right across the river from the Temple Bar Cultural hub.
